All Star operates on four rivers with our main base being in Maupin, Oregon on the Deschutes River.  Our other rivers are the Rogue, the White Salmon, and the Grande Ronde. Our season runs from April to October, with the overwhelming majority of the work in July and August.  It is important for applicants to be available to work for most of those months and availability on weekends in July and August are required.

First year raft guides always begin on the Deschutes River. Raft guiding experience is not required to apply for a first year guide position. There is extensive training provided before you are officially a guide. This training is no cost and it is not paid.  We do try to offer some hourly work during this time, however it is not guaranteed. There is no set amount of time for training.  Your ability to guide for All Star commercially will be assessed by senior staff. Working a summer in a support staff position, such as in equipment rentals, is a good way to transition into being a raft guide.

Experienced guides applying to work for All Star have the opportunity to guide day-trips and multi-day trips on some of the best rivers in the country.  Be sure to note your preferred river on your resume.  However, we do ask our experienced guides to be available to “float” over to any one of our other rivers.

There is employee housing available on the Deschutes and White Salmon Rivers. Sorry – absolutely no pets in employee housing.

1.   Send in a resume with at least two work references and complete the application below (copy the text into your email). silas@asrk.com , Subject: Employment
