Whitewater River Rafting Trips Near Portland, Oregon

 

portlandoregon Outdoor enthusiasts from all over are in for a treat when they choose Portland, Oregon as their vacation destination.  Situated close to the coast, the Cascades, the Columbia River Gorge, and the Oregon high desert, getting out into the great outdoors is easy.  Of course our favorite activity is RAFTING!  When visiting Portland, there are lots of amazing scenic rivers with great whitewater within a short drive out of town.

 

The Clackamas River in Estacada, Oregon is only 45 minutes from Portland.  In the spring and early summer All Star offers full day guided trips, and throughout the entire Oregon rafting season offers ½ day jaunts down this secluded river.  Perfect for adventurous first time or experienced rafters, the Clackamas is a great trip whether your group has a little or a lot of time to enjoy one of Oregon’s most popular rivers.

 

The Wild and Scenic White Salmon River near Bingen, Washington, is only a 1.25 hour drive from Portland.  Just across the Columbia River from historic Hood River, this excellent 1/2 day guided whitewater rafting trip travels through a beautiful gorge with constant rapids and the super thrilling Husum Falls.  Ideal for the experienced or adventurous first time rafter, this half day trip is the perfect opportunity to pair your river escapade with a vigorous hike or a leisurely drive through the famous Scenic Columbia River Gorge, or dine in one of Hood River’s many fine restaurants.

 

The Deschutes River is just 2 hours from Portland in Oregon’s north central desert, whether you drive through the Scenic Columbia River Gorge or through the Mt. Hood National Forest.  All Star offers a range of trips on the Deschutes.  Ideal for families and seasoned rafters alike, groups can choose from ½ day, full day or multi-day trips and raft rentals.  And the fishing is awesome!  The warm climate, high basalt canyon walls and fun, splashy rapids make this river the most popularly run river in Oregon.
