Grande Ronde Itinerary
GRANDE RONDE RIVER: THREE DAY TRIP OUTLINE MINAM TO TROY

On this trip we raft the Grande Ronde from the Minam boat launch to the Troy take out.  The run is 46 miles long. In camp, the All Star crew takes care of all the cooking and cleaning, all you have to do is enjoy the view!  Our meals are healthy and delicious, and our expert guides ensure that your group has a wonderful camping/rafting experience in this beautiful forested canyon.

We meet at the Minam Store at 9:00 am (typically groups arrive the night before and stay at a local camp ground or lodge or in a hotel in La Grande), load personal gear into dry bags and take care of last minute details. At the boat launch, your guide will give an orientation talk and an introduction to boating skills. The first 9 miles are on the Wallowa River, which then merges with the Grande Ronde. Each evening we set camp along the river where we have time to explore the site, have a little “happy hour” and enjoy a fine dinner!
Mornings start with a hearty breakfast, followed by a full day of fun and great scenery. The days consist of watching the scenic countryside go by, keeping our eyes out for signs of native birds and mammals, and trying out our inflatable kayaking skills. We reach camp in the afternoon with plenty of time to explore the site, have a little happy hour and enjoy a hearty dinner. We encourage you to bring a small musical instrument or a game for the whole group to play.
On our last day we reach the take out at Troy at approximately 4:00 pm where you can get yourself organized for the trip back home.  All Star provides transportation back to Minam for your car, or you can have your car shuttled to Troy.  Let us know your preference when you make the reservation.
Times for arriving and departing from camps are approximate- fluctuating water flows affect time schedules.  Throughout the trip, our guides will communicate with the group to discuss the plan for the day and options.

ALL STAR RAFTING provides dry bags for your personal gear. We also provide all boats, paddles, PFDs and group gear for camp. We can also provide tents and sleeping pads for no added cost.  Sleeping bags are available for $10.  If you have any questions about what to bring please contact us at 800-909-7238.

FOOD:
All Star provides dinner, breakfast, lunches and snacks. Our beverages include coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade and water.  For menu options, or for any special dietary requests/concerns give us a call.

SPECIAL NOTE: We cannot provide alcohol and cannot allow it to be consumed on the river during the trip. For overnight trips, if you would like to bring your own alcohol for camp please feel free to do so. We will help with the storage and transportation. Aluminum, plastic and foil bags are easier to store than glass.  Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed once at camp. We do not have alcohol on youth only trips.
