Who can go rafting?

We have guided trips that are appropriate for ages 6 and up, and have lots of options for everyone, whether they are a beginner or a seasoned rafter! We also offer raft rentals. Our phone staff can help you decide which trip is the best for your group. Call us at 800-909-7238 and let us help!

Do you have trips appropriate for younger children or first time rafters?

For kids 6 years of age at least 50 pounds and beginning rafters, the Deschutes River is a great family friendly rafting experience.  For kids 12 years and older or adventurous first time rafters, we can also offer trips on the White Salmon or the Clackamas rivers.

Do you provide all the gear that we need for the trip?

Yes! For day trips we provide your personal floatation device (PFD), your paddle, and depending on the weather can also offer wetsuits, splash jackets and water booties. On the White Salmon and Clackamas rivers we also provide helmets. Raft rentals include pfds, paddles or oars, oar frame, cooler, straps, and dry bags. For overnight rentals additional gear includes a repair kit, porta-potty and a pump.

What happens if it rains?  Do we still go rafting?

We go rafting rain or shine.  In the case that the weather may be less than ideal, we provide gear to keep you warm.

Is rafting dangerous?

Like every outdoor activity there is some risk involved, however our experienced and well trained river guides work to ensure that you have a fun and safe trip.

Will I need to sign a release waiver?

Everyone who goes rafting is required to sign a release waiver.  We are not able to take pregnant women or children under 50 lbs on our trips. Click here to download our release waiver.

What are boater pass fees?

On the Deschutes River, the Bureau of Land Management requires that every boater pays a boaters pass fee.  On guided trips, the cost of the pass is included.  When renting boats, you are required to purchase passes either online or through us.  For more information about this or to purchase the passes visit the BLM’s website at www.boaterpass.com.

Do you allow alcohol on your trips?

We cannot provide alcohol and cannot allow it to be consumed on the river. We think rafting is lots of fun without drinking, and suggest celebrating your great day on the river with your beverage back at home or at camp. For overnight trips, if you would like to bring your own alcohol please feel free to do so, we will help with the storage and transportation. Aluminum, plastic and foil bags are easier to store than glass.  Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed once at camp. We do not have alcohol on youth only trips.

Should I tip my guide?

You should never feel that a gratuity is automatically expected from you, but it is a great way to acknowledge excellent service.  If you feel that your guide has gone above and beyond to provide you with a memorable and rewarding experience, then a tip is a nice way to say thank you.
